Overview
The Kyoritsu KEW 3007A is a digital insulation and continuity tester for verifying the safety and integrity of electrical wiring and equipment. Building on the KEW 3005A, it adds a backlit display for clear reading in dimly lit plant rooms and risers, while combining high-voltage insulation-resistance testing, low-resistance continuity testing and AC voltage measurement in one instrument for installation testing, commissioning and periodic inspection.
The KEW 3007A applies insulation test voltages of 250, 500 and 1000 V, measuring insulation resistance up to 2000 MΩ, and performs continuity testing with a minimum 200 mA test current over 20 / 200 / 2000 Ω ranges to meet wiring-regulation requirements. It also measures AC voltage up to 600 V. An auto-null function subtracts the test-lead resistance, measured objects are automatically discharged after an insulation test, and a live-circuit warning buzzer alerts the user to the presence of voltage. It is rated CAT III 300 V and powered by eight AA batteries.
