The Fluke 1630 digital earth tester employs a state-of-the-art testing method that eliminates the necessity of disconnecting parallel ground rods and locating suitable spots for auxiliary ground stakes. This innovation significantly reduces time spent on testing and allows professionals such as industrial and utility electricians, field service electricians, and contractors to conduct earth ground loop tests in areas where traditional methods are impractical, like inside buildings or on power pylons.

Utilizing the stateless testing method, the need for earth-ground stakes is completely bypassed. The Fluke 1630 Earth Ground Clamp simply clamps around the earth ground rod or connecting cable. It induces a known voltage with one half of the clamp, while the other half measures the current. The tester then automatically calculates the ground loop resistance at the grounding connection.

How does Fluke 1630 work?

The Fluke 1630 grounding clamp clips around the grounding rod or cord set. One half of the clamp induces a known voltage and the other half measures current. The tester automatically determines the resistance of the ground loop at this ground connection.
