Megger TTRU1 Handheld Transformer Turns Ratiometer
The TTRU1 is Megger’s newest handheld transformer turns ratiometer. Alongside standard polarity validation and turns ratio tests, the TTRU1 can also measure short-circuit impedance (leakage reactance) with a single connection. Using color-coded leads, clamps, and customizable on-screen vectors that correspond to the transformer nameplate, the straightforward setup guarantees accurate results on the first try.
This versatile tool goes beyond the basic functions of polarity validation and turns ratio testing. One of its standout features is the ability to measure short-circuit impedance, also known as leakage reactance, using the same single connection setup. This integration simplifies the testing process and reduces the time technicians spend in the field.
The TTRU1 ensures ease of use through its intuitive design. It features colour-coded leads and clamps, as well as customisable on-screen vector diagrams. These diagrams are tailored to match the specific transformer nameplate being tested, guiding technicians through the setup process. This careful design consideration helps avoid common errors, ensuring accurate results on the first attempt.
Another notable feature of the TTRU1 is its impressive battery life. Capable of performing up to 1000 turns ratio tests on a single charge of its NiMH AA battery, this tool is ideal for extensive fieldwork. Recharging is straightforward and versatile; the unit can be connected to any standard USB wall charger or a PC. When connected to a computer, the TTRU1 not only recharges but also offers additional functionalities. Users can download test results, access the user guide, and view data sheets, making it a comprehensive tool for transformer testing and data management.
