The Easytest represents a simplified version of the standard VLF test. It has been designed to verify operational integrity versus operational reliability, which is the objective of a standard VLF test in accordance with the respective standards.

Typically, a simplified test is performed in accordance with company specifications after repairs or after a new cable or circuit has been installed. The purpose of such a test is to verify the integrity of the cable and there accessories before switching the circuit back into operation. The Easytest allows such a test at voltages well above operating voltage in order to provide a safe indication regarding operational integrity.

Equipped with an output voltage of up to 20 kV and the ability to operate at 0.1 Hz AC at 0.5 μF (and up to 2.5 μF at 0.02 Hz), the EasyTest 20 kV can adequately handle the demands of testing cables up to 2 kilometers in length. This capability ensures comprehensive coverage for most medium voltage cables used in utility and industrial applications.

The EasyTest 20 kV includes both VLF and DC testing capabilities. The DC module offers additional features such as leakage current measurement, which is crucial for testing both polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and paper-insulated lead-covered (PILC) cables. This dual functionality increases the system’s utility, providing more value in a single device.
