MEGGER OTD Oil Tan Delta
Oil Tan Delta (OTD) is a laboratory instrument that measures Tan Delta, resistivity, and relative permeability of insulating liquids. These tests give a more complete picture of the overall quality of the insulating oil and will indicate whether there is any contamination. Megger has developed the OTD functionality to ensure that productivity levels in laboratories are maximized. Microprocessor-controlled induction heating means there is temperature uniformity throughout the battery, according to IEC 60247, and cooling the fan effectively speeds up battery cooling time.
The device has a temperature measurement range of 10 to 110 ºC, with an accuracy of ± 1 ºC. It can be set to preheat before testing. The automatic oil change facility eliminates the need to move the oil tank.
Key Features of the Megger OTD
- Equipped with a microprocessor-controlled inductive heater, the OTD ensures uniform temperature distribution throughout the test cell, adhering to IEC 60247 standards. Additionally, an integrated fan accelerates the cooling process, enhancing the efficiency and throughput of laboratory operations.
- Safety is paramount with the OTD Oil Tan Delta. The instrument allows for the immediate termination of tests at any press of a button, cutting off high voltage instantly to protect the operator and the equipment. This feature, along with the design of the cell components that minimize turbulence and prevent air entrapment, ensures safe and reliable operation.
- The OTD’s automated oil drain facility eliminates the need for manual handling of the oil vessel, thus increasing productivity and reducing the risk of spills or contamination. The instrument can be preheated before testing, which optimizes test conditions and results accuracy.
