Overview

The SKF TMST 3 is an electronic stethoscope that detects and amplifies machine sounds to help locate faults that are difficult or impossible for the human ear to hear. A sensitive microphone sensor picks up the vibration and noise generated by bearings, gears and other rotating components, while the headset transmits the amplified sound clearly to the user — making it a practical first-line condition-monitoring tool.

Covering a 30 Hz to 15 kHz frequency range, the TMST 3 offers 32 levels of adjustable volume and a frequency filter so the operator can isolate a specific sound and cut out unwanted background noise. Two interchangeable probes (70 mm and 300 mm) reach both nearby and awkward components, and a recorder output lets sounds be captured for later comparison. Supplied complete in a sturdy carrying case, it is a reliable diagnostic aid for maintenance teams.
