Overview
The Kyoritsu KEW 6011A is a 5-in-1 multi-function installation tester that brings the core electrical-safety tests required for installation testing into a single, rugged instrument. Rather than carrying separate meters, an electrician can use the 6011A to carry out continuity, insulation resistance, loop impedance, RCD and prospective short-circuit/fault current tests, all to the IEC 61557 standard — speeding up installation, commissioning and periodic inspection.
It applies insulation test voltages of 250, 500 and 1000 V (ranges to 200 MΩ), tests continuity on 20 / 200 / 2000 Ω ranges, and measures loop impedance with a 25 A test current on the low range (and a no-trip 15 mA current on the higher ranges so RCD circuits are not tripped). RCD testing covers 10 to 1000 mA with trip-time measurement, and prospective short-circuit current is measured up to 20 kA. Rated CAT III 300 V and powered by eight AA batteries, it is a complete tool for installation verification.
