Overview
The Megger PDS 60-v2 is a portable partial discharge (PD) detection and localisation system used to assess the condition of medium- and high-voltage cables and their accessories. Rated for use up to 60 kV, it connects to Megger VLF sinusoidal, cosine-rectangular and damped AC (DAC) power sources, so PD can be measured under a range of standard test voltages during commissioning and diagnostic testing.
The system evaluates and displays results in real time with no post-processing, and uses phase-resolved partial discharge (PRPD) patterns to help engineers distinguish corona from internal PD and locate the defect along the cable. Supplied as a complete kit with a certified PD calibrator, laptop and connection cables, it is a practical tool for cable-diagnostics teams needing dependable PD data on site.
