Megger PD LOC Partial Discharge Tester

Overview

The Megger PD LOC is a partial discharge locating system designed to find PD faults in medium-voltage cables. It transmits calibrated impulses into the cable and analyses the reflections; the time difference of the returning reflection is used to calculate the precise distance to the discharge source, so weak points can be located before they develop into failures.

The system works on PE/XLPE, PILC, EPR and mixed cable networks and pairs a compact, battery-powered PD-TX transmitter with the Teleflex SX receiving and evaluating unit for clear reflectometer visualisation. Its portability, long battery life and range of couplers make it a practical field tool for cable diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
