Overview

The Emerson 475 Field Communicator (475HP1EKLUGMTS) is a portable handheld tool for configuring, calibrating and troubleshooting field instruments in process plants. Its intuitive full-colour interface uses similar methods for both HART and Foundation Fieldbus devices, supporting HART versions 5, 6 and 7 — including WirelessHART — so a single unit covers nearly any installed instrument.

The 475 features a 3.5-inch colour transflective touchscreen that stays readable in bright sunlight, a rechargeable lithium-ion power module delivering up to 20 hours of continuous use, and IrDA and Bluetooth connectivity for upgrades and data transfer. It can be upgraded on-site over the Internet, and its rugged IP51 enclosure survives a 1-metre drop onto concrete, making it dependable in demanding field conditions.
