MET ONE SASS and SUPER SASS Speciation Sampler

Overview

The Met One SASS and Super SASS are ambient PM2.5 chemical speciation samplers offering a choice of configuration for compliance monitoring. The SASS is a 5-channel sampling system, while the Super SASS is an 8-channel, multiple-event sequential system, both collecting size-selected particulate onto filters for laboratory chemical analysis.

Each channel uses a sharp-cut cyclone with a controlled 6.7 L/min flow, drawing samples onto 47 mm FRM filters (Teflon, quartz, nylon or carbon-impregnated) for analysis of mass, trace metals, carbon, sulfate, nitrate and ions. SASSComm software handles data transfer, and the designs have proven performance in EPA and CARB field studies.
