Description

NOVOTEST UT-3M EMA

The NOVOTEST UT-3M-EMA EMAT Thickness Gauge is an innovative product developed by NOVOTEST, designed to address not only conventional metal thickness testing but also to perform tests in situations where standard methods like piezo-ultrasonic, laser-optical, X-ray, or mechanical approaches are ineffective.

Electromagnetic-acoustic (EMA) technology for thickness measurement works by generating ultrasonic waves within the material using the device’s probe. It then measures the time it takes for these ultrasonic waves to travel through the material, allowing for accurate thickness assessment.

NOVOTEST UT-3M-EMA Key Features

The thickness gauge boasts a unique automatic mode that sets it apart from competitors
The gage also features a B-scan mode
To sort products based on set thickness limits, the gauge offers a special control mode
For expert testing, operators can manually measure thickness using a variety of methods, such as the autocorrelation function (ACF), measuring between two peaks in a gate, zero-crossing, and echo methods
