Overview

The Megger TDM 6260 is a high-power VLF test and diagnostics system for medium-voltage cables in 36 kV networks, rated up to 62 kV. Like the TDM 4540 it combines withstand testing with advanced condition diagnostics in one platform, but with higher output for the larger and higher-voltage cable systems found in utility and renewable-energy networks.

The TDM 6260 provides VLF sinusoidal (62 kV peak), VLF cosine-rectangular (60 kV RMS), DC (±62 kV) and DAC test voltages with automatic VLF frequency adaption from 0.01 to 0.1 Hz. Integrated tan delta (loss factor) measurement and partial-discharge detection (VLF sine, VLF CR/slope and DAC methods) assess insulation condition, and it can test cables with up to 4.4 µF capacitance at 0.1 Hz – controlled via laptop or integrated with Primeon/Centrix systems.
