Kyoritsu KEW 6018 Multi-Function Installation Tester

Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 6018 is a comprehensive multi-function installation tester that combines all the key electrical-safety tests an installation engineer needs into a single instrument. Beyond the usual continuity, insulation and loop tests, it adds earth resistance, RCD testing, prospective fault currents, contact voltage and phase-rotation checks — so one tool covers virtually the whole installation-verification sequence to the relevant standards, speeding up commissioning and periodic inspection.

The KEW 6018 applies insulation test voltages of 250 V (to 50 MΩ), 500 V (to 100 MΩ) and 1000 V (to 2000 MΩ), measures earth resistance on 12 / 120 / 1200 Ω ranges, and measures AC voltage to 600 V and earth voltage to 60 V. It also performs continuity, RCD, loop impedance, prospective short-circuit (PSC) and earth-fault (PFC) current, contact voltage (Uc) and phase-rotation tests. A backlight, automatic discharge after insulation tests, a neck strap for two-handed use and a high CAT III 600 V rating make it practical and safe. It runs from eight AA batteries.
