Megger SIA10 Socket Interface Adaptor

Overview

The Megger SIA10 is a socket interface adaptor that makes testing at UK BS1363 13 A power sockets quick and safe. Instead of removing the socket faceplate to reach the terminals, the electrician simply plugs the SIA10 into the socket and connects it to their installation tester using three colour-coded, shrouded 4 mm leads. Loop impedance and RCD tests can then be carried out without exposing live conductors or marking decorative outlets.

This is particularly valuable in difficult-access locations – under desks, inside cupboards or in tight spaces – where dismantling a socket is awkward. Test configuration (phase-earth or phase-neutral loop, RCD, impedance) is changed at the tester rather than the socket, and the SIA10 is designed to remain safe if accidentally left connected to a live supply. Lightweight at 230 g and rated CAT II 300 V, it is a handy accessory for any installation-testing kit.
