Overview

The Megger TDR1000/3 is a compact, handheld time domain reflectometer (TDR) for locating faults such as opens, shorts, water ingress and joints on metallic cable pairs. By sending a pulse down the cable and measuring the reflections, it shows the distance to the fault on a clear backlit graphic display, making it an ideal everyday tool for telecom, power and general cable technicians.

Ranges from 10 m up to 5 km (15 kft) with 0.1 m resolution cover most cable-fault jobs, and an AUTO set-up mode selects gain and pulse automatically so results appear quickly with minimal adjustment. Dual cursors, trace HOLD and live-trace overlay make comparisons easy, while an IP54-rated, battery-powered design keeps it practical in the field.
