Megger TDS 40-P Cable Testing and Diagnostics System

Overview

The Megger TDS 40-P is a portable cable testing and diagnostics system rated to 40 kV, designed to both prove and assess the condition of medium-voltage cables. It brings VLF, DAC (damped AC) and DC withstand testing together with diagnostic capabilities – tan delta and partial discharge – plus sheath testing and fault pinpointing, so a single two-unit system covers the complete cable-test workflow.

VLF output up to 40 kV RMS at 0.1 Hz tests cables with up to 4.8 µF capacitance (Plus version), while DAC and DC modes extend the range of test methods available. Integrated safety features – breakdown detection, a discharge unit and earth-loop monitoring – protect the operator and cable, and automatic reporting captures results. Compact and mains-powered, the TDS 40-P suits utilities and contractors testing and diagnosing MV cable circuits.
