Megger VAX020 2 kV High Voltage Amplifier

Overview

The Megger VAX020 is a high-voltage amplifier accessory that extends the capability of the IDAX300 series insulation diagnostic analyzers. By boosting the applied test voltage from 200 V up to 2 kV, it allows accurate dielectric measurements to be made even in electrically noisy locations such as HVDC substations and busy switchyards, where a higher test voltage is needed to overcome interference and obtain reliable results.

Working together with the IDAX analyzer, the VAX020 supports measurement of capacitance and power factor / dissipation factor, dielectric frequency response and moisture assessment on a wide range of high-voltage insulation. It delivers up to 2 kV peak AC with a maximum output current of 50 mA above 50 Hz (derating toward 30 mA at low frequency) across a DC-to-1 kHz range. Compact and weighing under 5 kg, it is easy to carry to site and runs from a standard 100–240 V mains supply.
