NOVOTEST UT 1M
The Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M is designed for rapid, non-destructive measurement of product thickness where only one side is accessible. Currently, this technique is the most widely used worldwide for such applications.The method works by utilizing the material’s ability to transmit ultrasound. Ultrasonic waves are generated by a piezoceramic plate in the transducer, which then pass into the material through a couplant. The waves reflect off the bottom surface of the tested sample and return to the transducer for measurement.
The device calculates the thickness of the material by measuring the time it takes for sound to travel through it and using the known velocity of ultrasonic wave propagation in the sample. The thickness is then displayed on the screen, with the entire measurement process taking approximately 1 second.
