PCE-BTM 2000A Belt Tension Meter
The belt tension meter is a maintenance tool used to measure the force of belt tension optically. The PCE-BTM 2000A belt tension meter consists of a display unit and a sensor head connected by a semi-flexible gooseneck. The gooseneck’s flexibility allows for easy positioning of the sensor head. With its mobility, the sensor can measure the force of the belt even in difficult-to-access areas. This device measures the belt tension in Newtons and the belt frequency in Hz while the belt is stationary.
A slight impulse on the belt causes it to vibrate, which the belt tension meter detects using the sensor to measure the belt’s natural frequency. This frequency is then displayed on the device. From this frequency, combined with optionally inputted belt length and mass, the belt tension meter can directly calculate the actual tension of the belt in Newtons or Pound Force units. However, it’s not mandatory to input this data to conduct measurements using the belt tension measuring device. The device allows for switching between units of measurement, supporting both N (SI unit) and pound force (US unit).
