TD C3 Submersible Fluorometer

The Turner Designs C3 Submersible Fluorometer is an In Situ instrument that allows users to collect data from water columns or systems accurately. It can be configured with one, two or three optical sensors ranging from the deep ultraviolet to the infrared spectrum. This instrument is designed to take measurements in the natural environment, providing more accurate and representative results. The Turner Designs C3 Submersible Fluorometer can be used for profiling to collect data in an effort to monitor algal activity throughout the water column over time.

The SMART program, which stands for Special Monitoring of Applied Response Technologies, is a collaboratively designed initiative for monitoring in-situ burning and dispersant applications. Since its beginning, the Turner Designs 10-AU Fluorometer has been used as the primary tool to measure seawater oil for the SMART dispersant component. While this instrument has been practical, recent advancements in fluorometry have led to development a new generation of in-situ devices. One such instrument, the Turner Designs C3 Submersible Fluorometer, has been developed and evaluated by the Clean Islands Council in partnership with Turner Designs. This instrument shows the potential for improving the effectiveness of a fluorometry-based SMART program.

The Turner Designs C3 Submersible Fluorometer also has software and firmware available for download. Turner Designs has worked with Campbell Scientific to help customers easily integrate the C3 Submersible Fluorometer with any of the CR800 or CR1000 series data loggers. This allows for seamless data collection and analysis.
