Kyoritsu KEW 8112 AC Clamp Adapter / Sensor

Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 8112 is a slim AC current clamp adapter that turns an ordinary digital multimeter, oscilloscope or chart recorder into a current-measuring instrument. Clamped around a conductor, it converts the AC current flowing through it into a proportional voltage signal that the connected instrument reads — letting current be measured without breaking the circuit, even down to very small values.

The KEW 8112 measures AC current from 0.1 mA up to 120 A across three ranges, with output ratios of 1 V/A, 100 mV/A and 10 mV/A, through a compact 8 mm jaw. Its wide frequency response (40 Hz to 10 kHz, and to 100 kHz at −3 dB) suits it to more than just mains-frequency work. At only about 100 g it is easy to handle, and it is rated CAT II 100 V.
