Kyoritsu KEW 2433R True-RMS AC Leakage Clamp Meter

Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 2433R is a true-RMS AC leakage clamp meter for measuring the small earth-leakage currents that signal deteriorating insulation. Building on the KEW 2433, it adds a backlit display and MAX/MIN/AVG functions for easier use in poorly lit locations and for capturing fluctuating leakage over time. Its 40 mm jaw clamps around single conductors or complete circuits and resolves leakage down to 0.01 mA, making it well suited to insulation-fault finding and preventive maintenance.

The KEW 2433R measures AC current on 40 mA, 400 mA and 400 A ranges, detecting tiny leakage currents as well as normal load current. True-RMS conversion gives accurate readings on the non-sinusoidal currents of modern equipment, while a frequency-selector switch filters out harmonics so only the true leakage component is shown. Data hold, MAX/MIN/AVG and a backlight add convenience, and it is rated to CAT III 300 V (up to 600 V AC/DC), running from two AAA batteries.
