Kyoritsu KEW 2434 AC Leakage Clamp Meter

Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 2434 is an AC leakage clamp meter designed to measure the small earth-leakage currents that reveal insulation deterioration. Its compact 28 mm jaw fits into confined spaces, and the instrument is engineered for excellent immunity to stray magnetic fields — reading no more than about 20 mA of error even close to a 100 A conductor — which lets it measure genuine leakage accurately even in crowded, high-current installations.

The KEW 2434 measures AC current on 400 mA, 4 A and 100 A ranges, so it detects small leakage currents as well as normal load current. A frequency-selector switch filters out harmonics so only the true leakage component is shown, and a data-hold function freezes readings. It is rated to CAT III 300 V and runs from two AAA batteries in a compact 290 g body, making it a practical tool for insulation-fault finding and preventive maintenance.
