Megger DDA-16 Digital Data Acquisition and Control Retrofit

Overview

The Megger DDA-16 is a digital data acquisition and control system supplied as a retrofit for the Multi-Amp CB-9116 circuit breaker test set. Rather than replacing a serviceable high-current test set, the DDA-16 upgrades it with modern digital signal processing (DSP) electronics, extending its working life and greatly improving the accuracy and repeatability of measurements. It is part of a family alongside the DDA-30 (for the CB-8130) and DDA-60 (for the CB-8160).

The DDA-16 digitally samples the output current for high-accuracy measurement and gives complete digital control of the test set’s silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs), with variable pulse-time and firing-angle control of the output current. This precise control, combined with digital acquisition, supports circuit breaker testing in line with NEMA AB-4 guidelines and makes the retrofitted test set easier and more accurate to operate.
