Megger PAM420 Multifunction Phase Angle Meter

Overview

The Megger PAM420 is a portable, battery-powered multifunction phase angle meter. In addition to measuring the phase-angle relationship between two AC signals – voltage-to-voltage, current-to-current or voltage-to-current – it simultaneously reads true-RMS voltage, current and frequency, giving engineers a fuller picture of the circuit under test than a phase-only instrument.

Covering 0 to 359.9° with 0.1° resolution, it accepts voltages up to 500 V and currents up to 25 A directly (with external CTs for higher currents) and measures frequency from 15 to 75 Hz. A backlit LCD, rechargeable battery and CAT IV 300 V / CAT III 500 V rating make the PAM420 well suited to checking polyphase metering, testing protective relays and verifying transformer phase-angle deviation.
