This sensor’s functioning is fairly straightforward. When it begins to rain, the pressure created by the raindrops on the sensor’s surface changes the pressure inside the sensor. In other words, rain causes the sensor’s pressure to increase. Following the interpretation of these pressure changes by an electronic circuit, an electrical signal indicating the level of precipitation is provided to the control system.
