The Megger BALTO system was developed to generate and inject very high, accurate DC test currents into the circuit to perform functional tests on high-speed DC circuit breakers — a constant concern for service and maintenance teams in railway organisations, especially when checking and setting thresholds. The modular version is fully scalable: a single module delivers up to 4000 A, and units can be combined in a Master/Slave configuration to reach up to 40,000 A. Built to specifications drawn from high-speed DC breaker manufacturers and railway operators, and compliant with IEC 61992-2 and IEC 60077-2, it is ideal for traction, railway and heavy industrial DC protection testing.
