Megger BITE2 Battery Impedance Tester

The Megger BITE2 is an advanced battery impedance testing device designed to evaluate the condition of lead-acid and nickel-cadmium cells up to 7000 Ah. It is an essential tool for maintaining and monitoring backup battery systems in telecommunications, power utilities and other critical industries, delivering detailed diagnostics that help prevent battery failures. A standout feature of the BITE2 (and BITE2P) is Pass/Warning/Fail assessment: users set a baseline value against which each cell is measured, so results clearly indicate which cells and straps need attention. Testing is performed on-line with no need to discharge the battery.

Key features of the Megger BITE2 impedance tester

Cell impedance to 100 mΩ – measures cell impedance (down to 1 µΩ resolution), DC voltage and interconnecting strap resistance.
Pass/Warning/Fail – baseline-referenced assessment highlights weak cells and connections at a glance.
On-line testing – capacitively-coupled 10 A AC test signal; test in service without discharging the battery (up to 275 V DC).
Large data storage – more than 2000 data sets across up to 300 tests, with RS-232 download to PowerDB LITE.
Flexible current sensors – standard 50 mm clamp, with optional 12 mm mini CT and 150 mm RopeCT.
Portable receiver – NiMH-powered handheld receiver (about 5 hours per charge).
