Megger BITE5 Battery Tester

The Megger BITE5 (cat. no. BITE5) is for battery maintenance teams in substations, telecom, UPS rooms, data centres and renewable sites who need a fast ohmic check on lead-acid (VLA/VRLA), NiCd and lithium-ion strings. One connection captures cell impedance, voltage and temperature. • BITE5 or BITE5 Advanced? Both cover lead-acid, NiCd and Li-ion. The Advanced adds accurate inter-cell (strap) resistance, parallel-string testing without segmenting, recharge monitoring, modules to 500 V and an RFID reader.
• Can it help during a TORKEL discharge? Yes. Megger lists cell voltage, impedance and temperature logging throughout the discharge so weak cells show up before they hit the voltage limit.
• Does float voltage alone prove health? No. Megger notes float voltage mainly confirms the charger; impedance trending flags cells that may fail between capacity tests.
