Megger Ferrolux Rx Audio Frequency Receiver

Overview

The Megger Ferrolux Rx is an audio-frequency receiver used to trace the route of buried cables and pipes and to locate faults on them with a high level of precision. Paired with a Ferrolux FLG audio-frequency signal generator, which applies a locating signal to the target line, the Rx picks up that signal above ground so the operator can follow the line, establish its depth and pinpoint faults — an essential capability for utilities and contractors managing underground networks.

The Ferrolux Rx combines several locating methods in one instrument. Its SuperMax and SignalSelect functions identify the direction of signal flow and help the operator stay on the correct line even where cables are closely bunched together, and it can locate joints and cable faults, including short circuits. Results are presented on an intuitive plan-view display, headphones give audible feedback, and a modular, plug-and-play sensor design keeps the receiver lightweight and comfortable for long periods of field work.
