Megger VLF Sine Wave 62 kV Test and Diagnostic System

Overview

The Megger VLF Sine Wave 62 kV test and diagnostic system is a portable platform that applies a true sine-wave very-low-frequency (VLF) test voltage for both withstand testing and diagnostic condition assessment of medium- and high-voltage cables. As the top of the sine-wave VLF range it pairs a powerful 62 kV output with automatic frequency control, a touchscreen interface and a suite of optional diagnostic modules, so a single system can prove a cable good and then investigate its condition in more detail.

It delivers up to 62 kVpeak (44 kVrms) as a true 0.1 Hz sine wave, with DC testing to ±62 kV and sheath testing to −20 kV (with the ESG NT2 probe), handling loads up to 10 µF. Automatic frequency adjustment matches the cable’s capacitance, while breakdown detection, automatic discharge and an analogue residual-voltage indicator keep operation safe. Results are stored internally and exported by USB to MeggerBook, and the diagnostic capability extends to optional internal tan-delta measurement with IEEE 400.2 evaluation and partial-discharge measurement via the PDS 62-SIN coupler.
