MET ONE BC 1060 Portable Black Carbon Monitor

Overview

The Met One BC 1060 is a portable black carbon monitor that precisely measures airborne black carbon concentrations using dual-wavelength optical absorption. With near-infrared (880 nm) and ultraviolet (370 nm) LED channels, it distinguishes traffic-related and biomass-combustion sources, making it valuable for air-quality research, source apportionment and environmental monitoring.

The BC 1060 measures from 10 to 100,000 ng/m³ with selectable time resolution from 1 to 60 minutes, drawing a 2 lpm sample through a reinforced glass-fibre filter tape. A back-lit OLED display, RS-232/USB output and USB flash-drive port make data collection straightforward, while its rugged, portable enclosure suits both fixed and field deployment.
