An SBS Hydrometer, also known as a Specific Gravity Hydrometer, is a vital equipment used to determine the specific gravity of liquids in a variety of businesses and laboratories. Specific gravity is the ratio of a material’s density to that of a reference substance (typically water) at a given temperature.
Hydrometers (density meters) are used to determine the specific gravity of liquids. The specific gravity of a liquid is the ratio of its density to that of water. In the instance of battery testing, the hydrometer measures the specific gravity of the electrolyte in the battery. The higher the specific gravity, the higher the acid content in the electrolyte.
