Megger VF-T5 Non-Contact Voltage Detector with Laser IR Thermometer

Overview

The Megger VF-T5 is a two-in-one pocket instrument that combines a non-contact AC voltage detector with a laser-guided infrared thermometer. It lets electricians and maintenance engineers quickly confirm whether a conductor, socket or cable is live and then measure the surface temperature of the same equipment — useful for spotting overheating connections, overloaded circuits and other developing faults without making contact.

Rated to CAT IV 1000 V, the VF-T5 detects AC voltage from 12 V to 1000 V and signals it with a bright red LED tip, a loud beeper (which can be silenced) and a vibration alert. Its infrared thermometer measures from −30 to +280 °C with ±2% accuracy and a 4:1 distance-to-spot ratio, with a laser pointer marking the centre of the measured area. A bright white LED work light helps in poor lighting, and the unit powers off automatically after about five minutes of inactivity to save the battery.
