Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 3128 is a modern, microprocessor-controlled high-voltage insulation resistance tester with diagnostic functions, designed for analysing the insulation of cables, transformers, motors, generators, high-voltage switches, insulators and wiring systems. It offers six test voltages — 500 V, 1000 V, 2500 V, 5000 V, 10000 V and 12000 V — with fine adjustment possible in each range. A large backlit bar-graph display plots insulation resistance and leakage current against time, and the instrument can store approximately 43,000 readings in internal memory. It powers from a built-in rechargeable battery or AC mains, automatically discharges the circuit after testing while monitoring the discharge voltage, and its rugged IP64 (lid-closed) construction suits demanding field use.
