Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 5410 is a compact digital tester for residual current devices (RCDs) and earth-leakage circuit breakers (ELCBs). It assesses the functionality of these safety devices, which protect against electric shock by detecting an imbalance between live and neutral conductors and cutting off the supply when a fault current flows to earth. The KEW 5410 offers selectable rated trip currents from 15 mA to 500 mA and ×½, ×1 and ×5 test multipliers, measures RCD trip time, and performs a ramp test that automatically varies the current to find the actual trip-out current. Auto contact-voltage detection adds safety by halting measurement at 50 V AC or above. Operating up to 400 V, IP54-rated and weighing just 220 g, it is an easy, reliable tool for electricians, safety inspectors and engineers.
