Equipped with industry-first stabilised insulation testing, ultra-high resolution 0.001 Ω loop impedance, dedicated EV charge point and Type B/EV RCD certification, and on-site Bluetooth® synchronization via Megger CertSuite™, the MFT-X1 enables field technicians to execute complete testing workflows and generate signed handover certificates directly from the job site.
Real-World Site Applications
Engineered to handle extreme ambient heat, dense electrical noise, and complex modern power architectures, the MFT-X1 addresses critical commissioning requirements across diverse Middle Eastern job sites:
- Commercial & Residential Commissioning: Perform initial verification and periodic inspection of single- and 3-phase switchboards, sub-main panels, and final circuits across new UAE developments.
- EV Charging Infrastructure: Test and certify AC EV charging stations with dedicated 6 mA DC / Type EV RCD sequences and integration with the Megger EVCA adaptor suite.
- Solar PV & Industrial Facilities: Measure True Loop™ without tripping sensitive protection devices and verify high-capacity earthing arrays in harsh Middle East ambient conditions.
- Industrial Switchgear & Panel Building: Execute continuous 200 mA continuity tests and loop impedance testing up to 50 kA prospective fault current (PFC/PSCC).
Key Features & Engineering Highlights
Beyond standard multifunction capabilities, the MFT-X1 introduces patented hardware innovations and advanced firmware design that drastically reduce on-site troubleshooting time:
- Patented Confidence Meter™ & True Loop™: Delivers fast, stable 2-wire and 3-wire non-trip loop impedance testing with adaptive noise immunity and loop resolution down to 0.001 Ω.
- Industry-First Stabilised Insulation Voltage: Output voltage accurate to -0% / +2% (+2 V), eliminating the standard +20% over-voltage spike to prevent damage to sensitive electronics (50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V & variable 50–999 V).
- Full Comprehensive RCD Testing: Configurable test sequences for Type AC, A, B, B(S), 3-phase RCDs, and dedicated Type EV (6 mA RDC). Includes auto-test sequences and fast ramp testing (10 mA to 1000 mA).
- High-Contrast Colour TFT Display: 480×272 bonded colour display with monochrome mode for direct sunlight readability and secondary dial usable with electrical safety gloves.
- Field-Upgradeable Operating System: Keep firmware up to date by downloading future feature releases directly to a microSD card.
- CertSuite™ Cloud Integration: Fast Bluetooth® test data transfer into Megger CertSuite for seamless mobile-to-cloud PDF certificate generation.
- Safety & Protection: CAT IV 300 V / CAT III 600 V safety rating with 600 V terminal live voltage protection without blown fuses.

How does the Megger MFT-X1 differ from previous generation testers (like the MFT1741+)
The MFT-X1 represents a major platform leap. It features a full-color high-resolution display, upgradable firmware to support future testing standards, faster loop impedance measurements (TrueLoop), enhanced RCD diagnostic capabilities, and native cloud integration with Megger’s CertSuite™ software for real-time certificate generation.
What is TrueLoop technology on the MFT-X1, and why is it important
TrueLoop is Megger’s patented, ultra-fast non-trip loop testing technology. It measures loop impedance down to 0.001Ω with continuous confidence indicators and advanced noise filtering. This ensures stable, highly repeatable readings even on noisy electrical circuits, significantly reducing testing time
Can the MFT-X1 generate professional certificates directly from the field
Yes. The MFT-X1 is fully integrated with CertSuite, Megger’s cloud-based electrical certification platform. Test results can be transferred instantly via Bluetooth to your mobile device, auto-filling test certificates on-site to eliminate manual data entry errors and speed up sign-offs.
What battery system does the Megger MFT-X1 use
The MFT-X1 is equipped with a user-swappable, fast-charging Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery pack. It allows technicians to carry a spare charged battery into the field, virtually eliminating downtime caused by battery depletion during full-day testing schedules.
Is the Megger MFT-X1 suitable for testing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points
Yes, when paired with the appropriate adapter (such as the Megger EVCA210), the MFT-X1 can perform complete safety verification on Mode 3 AC EV charge points, including Type B RCD/RDC-DD testing, loop impedance, and insulation resistance.
