The Megger MIT417-2 insulation and continuity tester is engineered to cater not only to Electrical and Industrial applications but also to a remarkably wide array of tasks, including electrical installations, cable testing, motor diagnostics, automotive assessments, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) testing, panel construction, avionics, and general maintenance.
Insulation testing in the MIT417 2 has been enhanced with feedback-controlled test voltages, reducing over-voltage to just 2%, a significant improvement over the industry standard of 10-20%. Continuity testing is now considerably faster, with a single auto-ranging function covering from 0.01 Ω to 1.0 MΩ, replacing the previous “ohms” and “kOhms” ranges. The tester also retains the 200 mA and 20 mA test options for added flexibility.
The Megger MIT417/2 offers additional low-voltage insulation test settings at 10 V and 25 V, making it particularly suitable for Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) testing and low-voltage signal-wire testing, such as in elevator systems. While the MIT415/2 includes a specialized display option for readings in 10⁵, 10⁶, and 10⁷ instead of the standard KΩ, MΩ, and GΩ, the MIT417/2 maintains a focus on versatile testing capabilities across various applications.
