Megger TAU3 Three-Phase Transformer Winding Analyser

Overview

The Megger TAU3 is a true three-phase transformer winding analyser that combines turns-ratio (TTR), winding-resistance, polarity and demagnetisation testing in one instrument. Because it measures all three phases at once from a single lead connection, it dramatically reduces test time compared with traditional single-phase methods, and the automatic adaptive demagnetisation ensures accurate readings and prevents nuisance trips after each test.

It measures turns ratio with ±0.05% accuracy using excitation up to 250 V AC, and winding resistance with ±0.10% accuracy at test currents up to 32 A, covering power, distribution and instrument transformers (CTs, PTs and VTs). A large 10.1-inch touchscreen makes operation intuitive, and at around 15 kg the TAU3 is up to 50% smaller and lighter than conventional systems – a practical, portable analyser for substation and workshop use.
