Megger TTRU1 Handheld Transformer Turns Ratiometer

Overview

The Megger TTRU1 is a modern handheld transformer turns ratiometer used to test single- and three-phase transformers, potential transformers and current transformers for winding and core faults. With a bright full-colour display, on-board Go/No-Go evaluation and stored vector-group configurations, it makes fast, repeatable turns-ratio testing straightforward for field engineers, and stores thousands of results for later download.

The TTRU1 measures turns ratio over a wide 0.8 to 50,000 range with an accuracy of up to 0.05%, together with phase displacement, additive/subtractive polarity and excitation current. It uses a single-phase source with three-phase measurement capability, and its Go/No-Go function flags short-circuit, open-circuit and inductance faults per side of the transformer. Two versions are available: the Basic model applies a 37.5 V induced test voltage while the Advanced model raises this to 62.5 V and adds custom vector lists and PowerDB support. A rechargeable NiMH battery gives around 1000 tests per charge.
