Megger Power Transformer Test Van

Overview

The Megger Power Transformer Test Van is a complete mobile transformer testing laboratory built into a single vehicle. It consolidates the full range of instruments needed for on-site transformer diagnostics – insulation, dielectric (tan delta), winding resistance, turns ratio, frequency response and withstand testing – so a team can carry out routine and advanced condition assessment at the substation without transporting and setting up separate instruments.

An integrated central switch box automatically routes the test leads between instruments, so operators avoid repeatedly climbing the transformer to change connections, improving both efficiency and safety. All results are captured, stored and trended in Megger’s PowerDB platform, while comprehensive safety monitoring (step voltage, emergency stop and interlocks to BGI 891 / VDE 0104) protects the crew during high-voltage testing.
