Megger TTR20-1 Transformer Turns Ratio Tester

Overview

The Megger TTR20-1 is a compact, handheld transformer turns ratio (TTR) tester for single- and three-phase distribution and power transformers, tested phase by phase. Comparing the measured turns ratio with the nameplate value reveals shorted turns, open circuits and other winding or core faults, making the TTR20-1 a convenient tool for commissioning, routine maintenance and fault-finding on transformers up to around 1 MVA.

Designed for simple one-button operation, the TTR20-1 measures turns ratio, excitation current and polarity, covering ratios from 0.8 to 10,000 with an accuracy of 0.2% or better across most of the range. An internally generated 55 Hz test frequency makes it a universal 50/60 Hz test set, and the low excitation voltage keeps testing safe. Powered by six standard AA batteries for up to 12 hours of field use, it weighs just 1.3 kg and shows results on a backlit graphics LCD.
