Product Overview

A computerized ultrasonic thickness gauge, model MT200. The device can measure the thickness of many different materials, including metal, plastics, ceramic, glass, and many other high-quality ultrasonic conductors, thanks to the ultrasonic principle. All sorts of materials’ velocities may be measured with it as well. The benefits of an ultrasonic thickness gauge are exposed to one side of the workpiece to finish the measurement, as opposed to traditional measuring methods.

Working Principle

The digital MITECH MT200 ultrasonic thickness gauge precisely measures the amount of time needed for a brief ultrasonic pulse generated by a transducer to pass through the thickness of a part or structure, reflect from the inside or back surface, and then return to the transducer. The observed two-way transit time is multiplied by the sound velocity in the material after being divided by two to account for the down-and-back travel path. The well-known connection reflects the outcome: H=v×t/2
