Kyoritsu KEW 2433 True-RMS AC Leakage Clamp Meter

Overview

The Kyoritsu KEW 2433 is a true-RMS AC leakage clamp meter for measuring the small earth-leakage currents that reveal deteriorating insulation. Its 40 mm jaw clamps around single conductors or whole circuits, and it resolves leakage down to 0.01 mA — far finer than an ordinary clamp meter — making it well suited to insulation-fault finding, preventive maintenance and safety inspection on modern installations.

The KEW 2433 measures AC current on 40 mA, 400 mA and 400 A ranges, so it detects tiny leakage currents as well as normal load current. True-RMS conversion and a 20 Hz to 1 kHz response give accurate readings on the non-sinusoidal currents drawn by modern equipment, while a frequency-selector switch filters out harmonics so only the true leakage component is shown. A data-hold function and roughly 2-second response make it quick to use, and it is rated to CAT III 300 V (up to 600 V AC/DC).
