Megger DDA-3000 and DDA-6000 Universal Circuit Breaker Test Sets

Overview

The Megger DDA-3000 and DDA-6000 are high-current universal circuit breaker test sets designed specifically to test low-voltage power and moulded-case circuit breakers fitted with thermal, magnetic or solid-state trip devices. By injecting a controlled high current directly through the breaker (primary injection), they verify that the breaker trips correctly and within its specified time, which is essential for confirming that protective devices will operate safely in service.

Both models use the Model DDA-1 digital data acquisition system with DSP technology for accurate, repeatable results and full digital control of the output. The DDA-3000 delivers up to 35,000 A and tests breakers rated up to 3,000 A, while the DDA-6000 delivers up to 60,000 A for breakers up to 6,000 A. Variable pulse-time and firing-angle control, digitally controlled SCRs with zero DC offset, pulsed and maintained initiating modes and a ground safety interlock make them powerful yet controllable, and both comply fully with NEMA AB-4 test guidelines.
