Megger TTR100-1 Hand-Held Transformer Turns Ratio Tester

Overview

The Megger TTR100-1 is a compact, hand-held transformer turns ratio (TTR) tester used to check the condition of power and distribution transformers, potential transformers (PTs), current transformers (CTs) and tapped transformers. By comparing the measured turns ratio against the nameplate value it reveals problems in the windings or magnetic core circuit, making it a practical tool for commissioning, maintenance and manufacturing quality control.

Weighing just 1.5 kg, the TTR100-1 measures turns ratio, phase displacement, excitation current and polarity, and applies a low excitation voltage to obtain accurate results safely. It covers ratios up to 20,000 with an accuracy of 0.2% or better across most of its range, displays phase deviation in minutes or degrees, and runs for up to 15 hours in the field on its rechargeable battery. Results and transformer settings can be stored on the instrument and downloaded to a PC over RS232.
