Overview
The Kyoritsu KEW 3005A is a digital insulation and continuity tester for verifying the safety and integrity of electrical wiring and equipment. It combines high-voltage insulation-resistance testing, low-resistance continuity testing and AC voltage measurement in one instrument, making it a practical all-in-one tool for installation testing, commissioning and periodic inspection.
The KEW 3005A applies insulation test voltages of 250, 500 and 1000 V, measuring insulation resistance up to 2000 MΩ, and performs continuity testing with a minimum 200 mA test current over 20 / 200 / 2000 Ω ranges — meeting the requirements of most wiring regulations. It also measures AC voltage up to 600 V. An auto-null function subtracts the test-lead resistance for accurate continuity readings, measured objects are automatically discharged after an insulation test for safety, and a live-circuit warning buzzer alerts the user if voltage is present. It is rated CAT III 300 V and powered by eight AA batteries.
