Fluke TL1550EXT 25 Foot Extended Test Lead Set

Description

Fluke TL1550EXT 25 Foot Extended Test Lead Set Overview

The Fluke TL1550EXT (P/N 2032761) is a 25 ft (7.62 m) extended test lead set for Fluke high-voltage insulation testers: the 1550B, 1550C and 1555. It gives you the extra reach to test long cables, large motors, generators and switchgear while you stand at a safe distance from the equipment.

The set has low-leakage red, black and green leads with matching alligator clips (26 mm jaw opening). The green lead connects to the tester’s guard terminal for accurate high-resistance readings.

Typical Applications

Insulation resistance, PI and DAR tests on long power cables
Large motors, generators and transformers
Medium-voltage switchgear and bus ducts
Tests where the tester must stay away from the equipment under test

Safety Tip

The probes are rated 5 kV DC max. The Fluke 1555 can test up to 10 kV, so always keep your selected test voltage within the rating of the leads. Make sure the circuit is isolated and discharged before and after each test. Read our guide on how to choose the best insulation tester and our guide to electrical safety standards and CAT ratings.

Fluke TL1550EXT FAQ

What is the Fluke TL1550EXT?

It is a 25 ft (7.62 m) extended test lead set for Fluke high-voltage insulation testers. It has red, black and green low-leakage leads with matching alligator clips.

Which testers does the TL1550EXT work with?

It is listed for the Fluke 1550B, 1550C and 1555 insulation testers. Fluke’s 1550C/1555 data sheet lists it as an optional accessory.

What is the green lead for?

The green lead is normally connected to the tester’s guard terminal. Guarding removes the effect of surface leakage current on high-resistance measurements.

What are the ratings of the leads?

The probes are rated CAT II 1000 V, CAT III 600 V and 5 kV DC max. The alligator clips are rated CAT II 1000 V, CAT III 600 V, 20 A.

Can I use the TL1550EXT at 10 kV on a Fluke 1555?
