Megger VF5 Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector

Overview

The Megger VF5 is a rugged, pocket-sized non-contact AC voltage detector for electricians and maintenance staff. Held near a conductor, socket or cable, it indicates the presence of AC voltage without any electrical contact, making it a fast and safe way to prove circuits live or dead, find a break in a conductor or check for a blown fuse while it is still in circuit.

Rated to CAT IV 1000 V and sealed to IP67, the VF5 detects AC voltage from 12 V to 1000 V and signals it three ways — with a bright red LED in the nylon tip, an audible sounder and a vibration alert — so it works in noisy or bright environments. A dual sensitivity setting distinguishes low- and medium-voltage sources, a bright white LED torch helps in poor light, and the detector switches off automatically after about five minutes to preserve its AAA batteries.
